Exploration Background
Over the past decade, Deeqa Mining & Exploration has carried out extensive exploration activities across Somaliland, completing more than 40 exploration campaigns and field expeditions spanning four regions: Awdal, Marodijeex, Saaxil, and Sanaag. These programs included geological reconnaissance, sampling, mapping, and field assessments aimed at identifying viable mineral systems. Through this long-term, data-driven process, multiple prospective areas were evaluated and compared. Ultimately, Deeqa strategically consolidated its efforts in the Xiis–Xaysimo area of Sanaag, where geological potential and community acceptance aligned most strongly.

Gaha
(Saaxil Region)
The Gaha–Saaxil area was assessed through multiple field visits and sampling programs. These campaigns contributed valuable regional geological insight and comparative data, but results indicated lower overall potential relative to Deeqa’s Sanaag assets.
Xiis–Xaysimo
(Sanaag Region)
Xiis–Xaysimo represents the most advanced and promising outcome of Deeqa’s exploration work. Multiple campaigns identified structurally controlled gold-bearing zones, surface workings, and favorable host geology. In addition to strong gold potential, the area benefits from sustained community engagement and local acceptance, making it the company’s primary focus as it transitions into mining.
Adaadle–Gacan Libaax (Marodijeex Region)
The Adaadle–Gacan Libaax area included reconnaissance surveys and sampling across structurally complex terrain. While mineralization indicators were identified, the area presented logistical and geological constraints that limited its priority for near-term development.

Strategic Outcome
Deeqa’s exploration strategy was deliberately comparative—evaluating multiple regions before committing capital and operational focus. This disciplined approach led to the decision to prioritize Xiis–Xaysimo as the company’s flagship area, with detailed project information presented in the Projects section.
